California Burrito

They actually know what a california burrito is. No one else in SLO does! California burritos are fantastic (french fries IN the burrito). A lot of people say the sauces are their jam but I'm not buying it. I think they could do a bit better on the salsas. BUT it is my favorite Mexican place in SLO

fish taco - not great

I ordered a fish taco here. And it was not good. It was $20 and I couldn't eat it. Asked for a box to take it to go so that it wouldn't be so obvious.

breakfast!

The breakfast burritos here are amazing. Hashbrowns, cheese, ham, eggs - just perfect. I like to get the nachos for lunch, big portions, flavorful and tons of toppings. The chips here are great too.

big burritos

The food is a little pricey - $13 for a burrito and a large soda, but it was huge and delicious. They have a great salsa bar too, some of which are pretty spicy. It took about 30 minutes to sit down, order and get my food.

It's next to the childrens museum and has seating right next to a creek, which is a plus.

Just the best

I've tried every restaurant in town and Tonitas is by far the best. The carnitas tacos here are SO good. Usually they're dry, but Tonitas has it nice and crispy, not to mention a generous helping of avocado on top. The adobada tacos are just as amazing too, flavorful and caramelized.

It's not as cheap as some other places but the tacos are larger than the street size.
